TTA Tower Bridge taekwondo students achieve Black Belt success and championship medals
TTA Tower Bridge students receiving Poom grade certificates from Grandmaster Loh
It has been another proud milestone for TTA Tower Bridge, with our students continuing to achieve success in both grading and competition.
We are delighted to celebrate our very first Poom grade students, who have officially received their certificates from Grandmaster Loh (9th Dan). Achieving a black belt is a major accomplishment in any martial art and reflects the dedication, discipline and perseverance our students have shown throughout their taekwondo journey.
The black belt grading took place in Glasgow in April 2026, where candidates were examined directly by Grandmaster Loh. Students were assessed across all core areas of taekwondo, including poomsae (patterns), kyorugi (sparring), breaking techniques and step sparring, demonstrating strong technical ability alongside a clear understanding and application of taekwondo principles.
We are incredibly proud of everyone who graded successfully. Reaching Poom grade status marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their training and reflects the consistent hard work they have put in week after week.
Celebrations didn't stop there. TTA Tower Bridge once again achieved strong results at the 44th TTA Taekwondo Teams Championship, held in Glasgow under the auspices of Grandmaster Loh. Students from TTA taekwondo clubs across the UK and Ireland competed in both teams poomsae and teams kyorugi events, with Tower Bridge competitors delivering excellent performances and proudly returning home with medals.
The championship also marked another important highlight for our club, as one of our adult students competed for the very first time since the launch of our adult taekwondo classes last year. Stepping into the ring for the first time takes courage, commitment and resilience, all qualities demonstrated through his performance under pressure and determination throughout the competition.
